Yung Hai Chen, PhD, P.E., MBA, is a consulting engineer and an affiliated faculty at Colorado State University at Fort Collins.He has over 30 years of experience, conducting and managing numerous projects involving hydrologic, hydraulic and sediment-transport analysis, design of flood control and drainage works, embankment and bridge pier scour and protection works, environmental analysis, and physical and mathematical modeling of watershed and river systems.Through these studies, he has visited many field sites, collected and analyzed field data and compared with laboratory tests and mathematical model results.He has gained good understandings of correlations between prototype conditions, and laboratory and mathematical model results, and thereby made study results practical, useful and reliable.Dr. Chen has written over 140 projects and reports in the above fields.
Amanullah Mommandi, P.E. is a senior Hydraulic Engineer at Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT).He obtained his M.S. from Civil Engineering Department, Colorado State University in 1975.He is the lead author of CDOT Drainage Design Manual.He has been teaching drainage at CDOT.He has over 33 years experience in water resource and hydraulics working in private and public sectors as a project team member and/or project manager working on environmental, traffic, design, maintenance, geology, material, soils, wetland, erosion control, permit, property management, construction management.
