Dr. Ting Chen is an associate professor of biological sciences, computer science and mathematics at the University of Southern California. Before he joined USC in 2000, he was a lecturer of genetics at Harvard Medical School. He received his PhD degree in computer science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1997, and his BE degree in computer science from Tsinghua University, Beijing, in 1993. He received an Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship in 2004. His research focuses on (1) the protein identification and sequencing via tandem mass spectrometry, (2) the analysis of Human genome polymorphisms and complex diseases, and (3) the large-scale integrated analysis of protein interactions, functions and pathways. His research has been supported by the Sloan Foundation, NSF and NIH. -
