   During his 30-year career, Tom has developed an in-depth appreciation and understanding of the importance of strategic project planning.He implements an objective, disciplined approach that considers existing assets (including land, buildings, cash and other investments) and the organization's mission and future needs.By carefully envisioning the entire planning and implementation process, Tom defines and evaluates critical project parameters prior to an organization investing resources.
   
   Tom has had the opportunity to work with two international firms specializing in design, engineering and construction.He has completed a number of high profile projects for educational clients including Cornell University, Duke University, Harvard University and The University of Michigan, and for healthcare clients including William Beaumont Hospitals in Royal Oak and Troy (Michigan), Middletown Hospital (Ohio), Crawford Long Hospital (Georgia), and Holland Community Hospital (Michigan).Tom currently is assisting several continuing care retirement communities located across the country.
   
   Tom received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Calvin College.He is a national licensed member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, a senior member of the Council of Educational Facilities Planners International, and an affiliate member of the Associate General Contractors of America.He has served on the Calvin College Board of Trustees and he was a board representative member of their master planning committee.He also served as a member of Grand Valley State University's Engineering Department's Advisory Board.Tom is a licensed professional engineer in 15 states.
