   Steven Chin is a senior principal engineer and engineering director at Intel Corporation.He is currently responsible for Intel's efforts in managed runtime environments and his team works with independent software vendors to help them tune and optimize their applications for Intel architecture systems.Prior to joining Intel, Steven held a number of positions at IBM in both research and development, working in areas of computer architecture, parallel computing, artificial intelligence, computer graphics and performance optimization.Steven has authored more than 60 technical papers and reports; he co-edited two books and a 45-minute computer-animated video; and has organized and co-chaired six international conferences.Steven earned a Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY Binghamton, and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Florida.
