    DR. STEVE CHEN is board certified in the areas of Anatomic and Clinical Pathology as well as Hematology. He contributes over 20 years experience in medical research and numerous publications in the field to his credit.

    Dr. Chen comes to Clarient having been the Director of Hematopathology and Flow Cytometry at US Labs since December 2002.     Steve Chen, M.D., Ph.D., Director of Hematopathology Dr. Chen recently joined US LABS as our new Director of Hematopathology, and is Board-Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Hematopathology. Prior to joining US Labs, Dr. Chen was employed at Quest Diagnostics/Nichols Institute in San Juan Capistrano, California. He received his Medical Degree from Taipei Medical College in Taiwan and his Ph.D. from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His postdoctoral and pathology residency training also were completed at Temple University. After five years as Assistant Professor of Pathology (including basic research in Hematopathology) and Associate Director of the Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dr. Chen completed a fellowship in Hematopathology at the University of Maryland where he subsequently served two years as Assistant Professor of Pathology/Hematopathology, and spent one year at the National Institutes of Health for training in Hematopathology/Immunopathology. Dr. Chen has numerous publications on molecular and cellular pathology on the subject of cancer, genetics, and hematologic pathology. Dr. Chen is licensed in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and California.
