   Ms. Sharon Chen is a Hong Kong solicitor (admitted in 1996) and a licensed lawyer of the Peoples' Republic of China (admitted in 1986).
   
   Ms. Chen obtained an LL.B degree from Beijing University in 1983, and an LL.M. degree from Shanghai Maritime University in 1986. She obtained a Certificate of Professional Examination (CPE) from the Manchester Metropolitan University and Hong Kong University in 1995 and a Postgraduate Certificate of Laws (PCLL) from Hong Kong University in 1996.
   
   Ms. Chen was a lecturer in law in the International Shipping Department of Shanghai Maritime University and was associated with the Shanghai Law Office for Maritime Affairs from 1986 to 1989. Ms. Chen came to Hong Kong in 1989 and worked for China Merchants Development Co., Ltd. as legal counsel. She handled various corporate and commercial matters, including joint ventures in China, corporate listings, commercial contracts, shipping disputes, etc. Ms. Chen joined Healy & Baillie in early 1995 and has been responsible for China and Hong Kong-related legal matters, providing legal opinions, drafting corporate and commercial documents, handling litigation and arbitration matters, etc.
   
   Ms. Chen speaks fluent Mandarin, Cantonese, Shanghai dialect and English.

   Sharon Chen has experience in international commercial and maritime litigation and arbitration as well as in cross-border commercial transactions. Her practice includes advising on trading contract, import and export issues, insurance, shipping, and corporate and construction matters. Sharon regularly provides services for Hong Kong and overseas companies, assisting with transactional deals; handling commercial, shipping, and construction disputes in litigation and arbitration in Hong Kong and the PRC; enforcing judgment and arbitration awards in Hong Kong and the PRC; and immigration and probate proceedings.
   
   Sharon worked for China Merchants in Hong Kong as in-house counsel for more than five years and was very involved in the establishment of Sino-foreign joint ventures, restructuring, and general commercial litigation and arbitration. She also worked at an American law firm in Hong Kong from 1995 to 2001.
   
   Sharon is fluent in Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese, and Shanghainese) and English.
