   Dr. Chen was awarded his MD and a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Pathology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.Dr. Chen completed his Clinical Pathology Residency at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and the Harvard Medical School where he was selected as the Chief Resident.Dr. Chen was awarded the 2000/2001 Bayer Diagnostic Research Award from the College of American Pathologists Foundation and was named the College's 2001 Research Scholar.Dr. Chen is Board Certified in Clinical Pathology and holds medical licensures in Massachusetts and Florida.Dr. Chen currently serves as an inspector for the College of American Pathologists Clinical Laboratory Accreditation Program.In biomedical research, Philip has directed several clinical and basic scientific studies, received several awards including the Paul Strandjord young Investigator's Award from the Academy of Clinical and Laboratory Physicians and Scientists.He has authored many papers in peer-reviewed biomedical journals.Locally, he serves on the Healthcare and Biotechnology Committee at Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission.He has also been a biotechnology research consultant for several Wall Street investment bankers.Philip secured the initial funding for Cognoscenti.
