    Peter Chen, P.E. is a CED/AAI Mechanical Engineer with a background in analytics, product development and manufacturing. Mr. Chen obtained both a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in mechanical engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. While pursuing his Master's degree, Mr. Chen focused his education and research on Tribology - the study of friction, lubrication and wear of devices. These studies advanced Mr. Chen's knowledge, qualifying him as an expert on slip and falls and other friction-related accidents. His specialty also attracted the eye of the country's leading jet engine manufacturer, Pratt & Whitney/United Technologies.

    At Pratt & Whitney, Mr. Chen first held the title of Analytical Engineer where his responsibilities included

    analyzing the lubrication and thermal management of jet engines in a product testing environment. Mr. Chen also provided detailed laboratory programs to improve efficiency. Mr. Chen's second position at Pratt & Whitney was in the product development program where his responsibilities included the design of thermal management components for jet engines. While in this role, Mr. Chen was part of the JSF (Joint Strike Fighter) program for developing a short takeoff, vertical landing engine which was a competitive program between Lockheed Martin and Boeing Aircraft and was featured on the award-winning program NOVA on the Public Broadcasting Service network.

    While still at Pratt & Whitney, Mr Chen also held the role of manufacturing engineer involved with the production of jet engines. In this role, Mr. Chen has experience in manufacturing processes, manufacturing equipment and safety where a strict program was implemented to reduce manufacturing accidents.

    After leaving Pratt & Whitney, Mr. Chen joined CED/Accident Analysis Inc. as a mechanical engineer to apply his knowledge of manufacturing, research and product development to such areas as human factors, accident reconstruction and slip and fall accidents.     Dr. Chen has more than 20 years of technical management and teaching experience in manufacturing and information technology.
