   Nick Chen, National Chief of Tunnel Design, HNTB Nick Chen is a tunnel/structural engineer and project manager with over 18 years of experience in the design and management of underground projects around the country. He specializes in soft ground and hard rock tunneling, including deep excavations, cut-and-cover tunnels, bored tunnels, shafts, and caverns. He is an expert in underground structure designs and numerical modeling for geomechanics.
