   Dr. Chen is in charge of the Information Technology Center and Corporate Engineering Center at SMIC. This former manager at Texas Instruments was responsible for most IT related functions and directly involved in the establishment of TI's first 8" wafer fab (DMOS5 and DP1) and TI-Acer's start-up team. A well-seasoned veteran of the semiconductor industry with extensive fab startup experience, Dr. Chen comes to SMIC with 22 years of industry experience. He is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a PhD and MS in Electrical Engineering and a graduate of the National Taiwan University with a BS in Electrical Engineering.
