   Melissa graduated in Dentistry from the University of Bristol in 1990. She obtained a broad postgraduate education in the fields of Oral Medicine, Maxillofacial Surgery, Paediatric Dentistry and Adult Restorative Dentistry, as well as spending a year as a general dental practitioner.
   
   In 1993, she became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
   
   In 1994, she joined the three year postgraduate orthodontic training programme at the Eastman Dental Hospital. She was awarded a Masters degree in Orthodontics of the University of London in 1996 and the following year gained her Membership in Orthodontics of the Royal College of Surgeons.
   
   Following consultant training at Guy's and Orpington Hospitals, she was awarded the Fellowship in Orthodontics of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2000.
   
   Melissa is a Consultant at King's College Hospital, London. She is actively involved in the training of postgraduate Orthodontic Specialist Registrars lecturing at GKT Dental School and the Royal London Dental Hospital. She is a member of the British and European Orthodontic Societies and the British Dental Association, and is on the Specialist List for Orthodontics of the General Dental Council. Her particular interest lays in the treatment of adult patients especially those requiring a combination of orthodontics and surgery and/or restorative dentistry.
   
   Melissa loves playing her piano and is a keen snow and water-skier. She moved from London to live in Brighton in December 2002.
   
   Melissa practices in Brighton and Crawley.
