   One of three co-founders and current company Chairman , Lotus Chen has been instrumental in the development of Ulead Systems into a leading multimedia software vendor. From the founding of the company until 1996 , Mr. Chen served as one of the major planners of Ulead's imaging products and business. He served a similar role for Ulead's video products in the period until 1995.
   
   In 1996 , he began a drive to turn Ulead Systems to the Internet through the launch of the Ulead WebUtilities product line of Web graphics tools. Mr. Chen pioneered Ulead's online marketing and sales channels and established Ulead WebUtilities as one the software industry's most successful downloadable software products lines. Since assuming the chairmanship , Mr. Chen has been active in positioning the company as a primary force in the Internet media space.
   
   Mr. Chen graduated from National Chiao-Tung University ( NCTU ) in 1981 and received a master's degree in computer engineering from NCTU in 1983. Prior to founding Ulead Systems , he served 6 years at the Institute for Information Industry where he focused on tools and Electronic Publishing System.

   Spurred by the desire to internationalize Taiwan's software industry , Mr. Chen has played a key role in the development Ulead's research and development efforts. He is recognized as a leading expert in the field of image processing. In 1988 , Mr. Chen was recognized as one of the top ten outstanding persons in the ROC information industry.
   
   Before founding Ulead Systems , Mr. Chen served for four years at the Institute for Information Industry. He graduated from the computer science Department of Feng-Chia University and holds a Master's degree in Computer Engineering from National Chiao Tung University.
