The first language of the incoming principal of Barnstable Middle School wasn't English.

Lisa Chen, a doctoral candidate in educational administration at Boston College, was born in Taiwan.She mastered her second language well enough to earn a bachelor's degree in English with African-American Studies from Oberlin College in Ohio and a master's in English education from New York University and England's Oxford University.
