I-Pin Chen Violin
I-Pin Chen holds Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in Violin Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of the John Hopkins University, where she studied with renowned violinist Victor Danchenko (pupil of the legendary violinist David Oistrakh). She was a scholarship student in Peabody and was awarded the Josef Kasper Prize in violin in 1996. Ms. Chen has dedicated herself to both performance and teaching. An avid musician, Ms. Chen has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in Boston, Maine, Canada, Taiwan, and the Pasadena area. Her orchestra experience includes the Long Beach Symphony, Redlands Symphony and Annapolis Symphony, and she is also the violinist in the Mural Piano Trio, which was founded in 2003. Ms. Chen is a director of the Suzuki Music Association of California and she is also an active member of the Music Teachers' Association of California. She is currently a faculty member of the Pasadena Suzuki Music Program and has been an instructor at PCM since 2001. -
