    As a dynamic, diverse musician, Huifang Chen enjoys a dual career as a performer and an educator.She received her Bachelor of Music Degree from the Curtis Institute of Music and her Masters of Music Degree from the University of Miami.She was a full scholarship recipient of both institutions.She was a long time member of the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra.In 2006, she became the Orchestra Director at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

    In addition to teaching full time at Douglas, she is also on the faculty of the Frost School of Music, University of Miami, and is the String Orchestra Director of the Young Musicians' Camp held every summer at University of Miami.She plays as concertmaster of the two orchestras including Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra and the Boca Raton Philharmonic Symphonia.She is the founder and the violinist of the ensemble Dynamic Strings.

    As an international violin soloist, she has appeared with many orchestras around the globe.She was the winner of the 1999 Young Concert Artist of the Year awarded by the National Concert Hall of Taipei, Taiwan and a Concerto Competition Winner at the University of Miami in 2003.As a recording artist, she is on dozens of award winning CDs.Chen has recorded with many top pop artists including Barbara Streisand, Gloria Estefan, the Bee Gees, Jon Secada, Ricky Martin and Julio Iglesias.

    As an Orchestra Director at Stoneman Douglas High School, she strives for excellence.Both the Douglas High School Symphony Orchestra and String Orchestras received Superior ratings at the Florida Orchestra Association's Music Performance Assessment in her first year of teaching.In March, 2008, she will be conducting the Florida Youth Orchestra in Carnegie Hall in New York.

    As a private instructor, her students have repeatedly auditioned successfully for the Florida All State Orchestra.

    Image Huifang Chen holds a Masters of Music from the University of Miami. She was a violinist in the former Florida Philharmonic, and has performed extensively as a soloist. Most recently, Huifang has performed the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with the Dreyfus Orchestra of Palm Beach.
