Dr. H. Phillip Chen, Vice President Research & Development
Dr. H. Phillip Chen is a core member and founder of Orblynx, Inc. He leads the design of Web caching and IP multicast for the Orblynx Internet Distribution System (IDS). Dr. Chen's Wormhole caching mechanism has been implemented in IDS2000 to provide global Internet access via satellite. Before that, he worked at Hughes Information System Inc. as the infrastructure architect in distributed object computing for NASA's ECS project.
Dr. Chen pioneered the phase-based object recognition method in computer vision when he was a fellow engineer at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab. He is also renowned worldwide for his work in low dimension many body systems. Dr. Chen has authored many research papers and holds a wide range of science and engineering patents. Dr. Chen has received degrees in both computer science and theoretical physics from the Johns Hopkins University, the University of Utah and Peking University.
