David Z. Chen, B.S. degree in Precision Instruments, Optical Engineering, MS and Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics (Quantum Statistical, Nonlinear, Applied and Computational Optics). He spent five years working on super computers doing advanced numerical simulations in non-linear optics, Higgs Field dynamics and chaos. From 1995 to 2000, he completed the job of building MCI¡¯s network control center for voice, data and transport monitoring and provisioning in Dallas Texas. From 2000, Dr. Chen technically led the MCI¡¯s advanced optical network technology development. His main focus is on the Ultra Long Haul technology, next generation fibers, 40 Gbps and beyond technology and new modulations.
