   The Chen family, including his mother, Yu Mei Chen, and father, Cheng Pin Chen, also visited and toured the CNMI Courthouse in Susupe.

   Chen was with the CNMI police force from Sept. 25, 1995, to Dec. 23, 1999. He graduated Salutatorian of the 13th Police Academy Cycle and was immediately assigned to the Motor Carrier Safety Program. He was then transferred to the Criminal Investigation Bureau, working as a detective, before being assigned to the Patrol section as a patrol officer. He enlisted in the Army briefly after his resignation.
   
   Chen and seven other soldiers were killed by hostile fire in Sadr City in Baghdad last April 4 when their units were attacked with rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire. He was 31.
   
   Chen was supposed to return sometime last month, but his contract was extended.
