Chelsea Chen will also perform her own "Taiwanese Suite" (2003), which premiered to great success at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion in San Diego.Honoring her father and his Chinese ancestry, Chelsea's "Taiwanese Suite" is based on Taiwanese folk songs.
Ms. Chen's performance at Makawao Union Church will be projected onto a large screen, allowing the audience to view her brilliant technique.

Chelsea has been the recipient of many awards, including the prestigious John Erskine Prize for scholastic and artistic distinction at The Juilliard School.In addition, she has taken first prizes in competitions including the 2005 Augustana/Reuter National Undergraduate organ competition, the 2003 Region IX American Guild of Organists RCYO competition, and the 2005 Musical Merit Foundation competition.In 2006, she was an Aspen Music Festival full scholarship recipient for piano.
In 2006, Ms. Chen was featured at the AGO Region IX Conclave in Las Vegas and at the AGO National Convention in Chicago.In addition, she has soloed with the Juilliard Percussion Orchestra in Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall.She recorded her debut CD and DVD, "Live at Heinz Chapel" and her playing has been aired on "Pipedreams" from American Public Media.
Ms. Chen will also perform Friday, June 15, at 7:30 P.M. in Honolulu at St. Andrew's Cathedral, Queen Emma Square.Chelsea's Oahu concert is sponsored by the Hawaii Chapter of The American Guild of Organists.
