   Further proof of Microsoft's success in China has come with the recent announcement that Charles Chen, Vice President of China Microsoft Advertising, has been named one of the "2007 People of the Year in China Advertising".

   During the awards ceremony, Chen recalled the challenge when Microsoft Advertising first announced its CPM pricing model for online advertising on MSN China."I remember clearly at the time when we announced our strategy, 27 articles appeared in the media, all saying this was a strategy created by outsiders who don't understand the local culture and business environment.Some were even harsh enough to predict that MSN will be out of business within a year."
   
   But after two years of perseverance, Microsoft Advertising has defied the Dooms Day predictions from industry insiders and media alike.Chen has stood firm with his CPM pricing model, which has not only kept MSN afloat, but has proven profitable in an industry known for razor thin margins.Today, MSN China's advertising clients have grown from just 20 to more than 300, while advertising revenues have posted an annual growth rate of 65%.
