   Taipei-based SinoPac's gains from overseas operations in the U.S., Vietnam, and Hong Kong accounted for 27 percent of its NT$5.78 billion profit last year and 39 percent of first-half earnings this year, Bank SinoPac President Angus Chen said at the ceremony.Overseas operations will contribute more to profit as they expand, he said.
   
   The merged Bank SinoPac has 129 branches on the island with combined customers of 2.2 million, Chen said.
