   Dr. Chen originally started with the firm as a Scientific Advisor.He then joined a client of the firm, Par Pharmaceutical, Inc. a specialty pharmaceutical company that develops, manufactures and markets generic drugs, and branded drugs for specialty markets.Over the course of two and half years, Dr. Chen became in house Patent Counsel and was responsible for managing the company's intellectual property strategy.He worked closely with the Generic Products Division, including the Business Development, Legal, Research & Development and Regulatory Affairs groups.Dr. Chen worked on the generic product pipeline from selection through commercialization, and coordinated with outside counsel on patent litigation.He also worked with the Branded Products Division on patent protection and lifecycle management.In addition, he supported both Divisions on due diligence and licensing opportunities.
   
   Dr. Chen received a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 2002, where he was awarded a National Cancer Institute training grant.His dissertation research focused on protein degradation pathways underlying cancer, including studies of hereditary breast cancer susceptibility genes.

   Angus Chen is a scientific advisor in the New York office of Frommer Lawrence & Haug LLP. Dr. Chen provides support in pharmaceutical pre-litigation matters, including patent infringement opinions. He is also involved in the preparation of biotechnology patent applications and patentability opinions.
   
   Dr. Chen is currently a student at Fordham University Law School, expecting to graduate in 2006. He earned a Ph.D. with Zhen-Qiang Pan, Ph.D. from the Derald H. Ruttenberg Cancer Center at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine of New York University, where he was awarded a National Institutes of Health (National Cancer Institute) training grant in cancer biology and a teaching award.
   
   Dr. Chen's research was directed towards understanding the biochemical mechanisms underlying protein degradation pathways in cancer, including studies of the breast cancer susceptibility gene BRCA1. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, such as the Journal of Biological Chemistry and Molecular Cell. Dr. Chen was also an invited speaker at the Third International Workshop on the Function of BRCA1 and BRCA2 and has presented posters at other international meetings.
