    Originally trained as an actor and dancer, Matthew Chellis began his professional education at the University of Michigan where he earned his Bachelor of Musical Arts degree. After receiving his Master of Music from the Manhattan School of Music, he spent two years as a company member of the prestigious Juilliard Opera Center and was an apprentice artist with both Santa Fe Opera and Wolf Trap Opera.
