   We begin with a case illustration of one of my patients whom I met approximately one year ago. John is a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at a major university in Southern California, and was about 65 years of age at the time he came to my office for consultation. John's overall health had begun a decline at the age of 45, when he began experiencing allergies to certain foods (such as milk). Then, at age 55, he developed arrhythmia. Re consulted a cardiologist, was monitored and subsequently medicated, although the cardiologist gave no cause or cure for the condition. At roughly the same time, he began gaining weight and feeling a lack of t'nergy. John went to a highly-touted medical center, where he spent three days in the hospital for an in-depth work-up.
