Nordine received his M.S. in 1981 in Plant Physiology at the University of Minnesota and took on a teaching/research position in the Department of Horticulture and Plant Sciences at IAV (Morocco) 1982-88 teaching crop physiology and plant metabolism and leading a research program in hormone regulation of plant metabolism. Nordine completed his Ph.D. in Plant Physiology/ Biochemistry in 1991 at the University of Minnesota investigating leaf carbon metabolism in C3 & C4 plants and in particular diurnal gene and protein regulation of sucrose metabolic enzymes. Nordine then assumed a Research Associate position in the Department of Agronomy & Plant Genetics at the University of Minnesota (1992-95) teaching crop physiology and leading a research program in kernel metabolism and stress effect on kernel abortion in maize. Nordine Joined Monsanto Ceregen Group in 1995 as Senior Research Scientist in the area of carbon metabolism and was appointed as Program Director for the Ag Biotech Yield Group in 1997. In 1999 Nordine became Site Director of the Monsanto Calgene Campus in Davis, CA responsible for site research & development and operations. In April 2004 Nordine relocated to St. Louis as Program Director for the Biotech Trait Development Pipeline Group.
