   I visited in early October on a two-day bicycling jaunt with a friend, Tim Chegwidden, sales manager for Slocum & Sons, a Connecticut wine distributor.

According to Tim, it is said that in the renowned Italian wine village of Barbaresco, when you ask winemakers who ferments the best wine in town, they rank themselves No. 1 but grant Angelo Gaja the No. 2 spot.
