   David Chefneux - Acting Director of Finance
   
   David Chefneux joined North Yorkshire Police as Head of Finance in April 2004, before taking on the role of Acting Director of Finance in early-February 2005.
   
   He has acquired nearly 25 years experience in public sector finance and has previously worked for Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council (in a broad range of financial roles) before progressing to Head of Accountancy at Richmondshire District Council in 1996.
   
   David became a fully qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance Accountancy (CIPFA) in March 1996. Despite his experience in public sector finance, he has some way to go to match his father-in-law, who completed fifty years in local government prior to retiring as a Chief Executive.
   
   David was born in Kent in 1964. He is married to Anne and, away from work, enjoys the outdoor pursuits of golf and fell-walking.
