According to Martin Cheetham, regional sales director for Sanchez, the supplier was directly involved in Mobile Sense's inception.

Cheetham says that Sanchez came upon the idea of using Profile for mobile payments some time ago, and initially approached Orange about a partnership to this end. When the deal did not go through, the supplier began looking elsewhere. The tie-up with Mobile Sense is seemingly the result.
‘People have been talking about making payments through a mobile device for nearly a decade,' says Jefferson. ‘Other systems and services were looked at in addition to Sanchez.' However, he declines to name these.
Mobile Sense is a retailer and not a bank, which means that it does not require a banking licence, says Cheetham.
