Will Cheek advises clients in business formation, contract negotiations and transactions. He also provides alcoholic beverage licensing and regulatory compliance advice to restaurants, hotels, bars, clubs and venues to a statewide roster of clients in Tennessee, from publicly-traded, multi-national companies to small, chef-owned restaurants.
Mr. Cheek was selected for The Nashville Business Journal's "Best of the Bar" in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. He completed the 2007 Class of Leadership Nashville. An active member of several local charities, Mr. Cheek has served as Chairman of the Board of the Center for Nonprofit Management, the Metro Nashville Arts Commission, the Belcourt Theatre and Community Resource Center. He continues to serve as a Commissioner on the Metro Nashville Arts Commission, on the Boards of Center for Nonprofit Management and the Belcourt Theatre, and as legal counsel to Artrageous, Inc. He has chaired or co-chaired a number of charitable events, including Artrageous, Oyster Easter, Salute to Excellence and Shuckin' in the Village.
Mr. Cheek graduated from New York's Columbia University and received his Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University Law School in 1991. He clerked for the Honorable Justice Martha Craig Daughtrey at the Tennessee Supreme Court in 1992.
Mr. Cheek resides with his wife and fellow bar member, Kathryn Barnett, and their children, Christopher and Ella, in the historic Otto Giers residence near Hillsboro Village. -
