   Bill Cheek, a registered pharmacist and co-owner of Nature's Pharmacy in Asheville, also applauded the bill's demise. "Certainly, we don't need to be practicing medicine unless we're trained in it, but I feel like most people dealing with herbs and vitamins generally are not practicing medicine," Cheek said. "The way I see it, I'm involved in the health care team - me, the doctor, the patient, maybe a few others." The licensure issue grabbed headlines last fall after an 8-year-old diabetic girl staying in Asheville died after she was taken off insulin.
