   Leon Chechowich is the Field Coordinator for Slavic Missionary Service. He serves as evangelist and Bible teacher in the Commonwealth of independent States (C.I.S.) travelling extensively in his role as field coordinator of SMS. He has witnessed, first hand, the changes that have been taking place in the former Soviet Union and is encouraging nationals to go forth to reach their people wit the gospel.
   
   He had two assignments totalling 13 years of ministry in Australia. He worked in broadcasting to the former Soviet Union, distributing literature and Bibles. He helped organize the Slavic Evangelical Baptist Fellowship of Australia, which was organized to reach Slavic speaking people in Australia.
   
   In his travels, he has preached in England, France, Belgium, Germany and Poland, serving Slavic speaking congregations and encouraging missionaries. Pastored churches in California, Michigan and Ohio in bi-lingual ministries.
