   David Cheang has over 20 years experience as an engineering manager, trainer, quality/safety/security practitioner in the naval and merchant marine sectors. After discharge from the Singapore Navy in 1978, he went to sea as an Engineering-Officer-On-Watch (EOOW) before coming ashore in 1984. For the next 10 years, he was Chief Inspector/ Manager with a leading safety & survival company- actively involved in the development and training of maritime and aviation safety products. He has been involved in audits with various inspection agencies and maritime classification bodies, safety & quality training (per ISO 9000 QMS & ISM/ISPS Codes) and technical support at vessel docking surveys.
   
   Mr Cheang's educational credentials include an MBA (Macquarie University, Sydney): 1st Class/Chief Engineer's Certificate of Competency (Motorship) issued by the Singapore Marine Department: and 2 diplomas, one in Marine Engineering (Singapore Polytechnic) and the other in Management Studies (Singapore Institute of Management).
   
   Today, Mr Cheang is General Manager of International Ship Classification Pte Ltd. He meets to the requirements of the UK International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA) as ISO 9000/ISM Maritime Safety Systems Auditor and manages surveys and certification to meet with various flag state administrations.
