"I feel like the Earth is God's, and we need to take care of it," said Cheryl Cheadle, a conservationist with the Oklahoma Conservation Commission.
"The idea is to engage church staff and volunteers who have a spiritual interest in taking care of the Earth," she said.
The workshop is for pastors, church staff, Sunday School teachers, elders, deacons and other church leaders, and anyone else interested in the spiritual responsibility to treat the Earth with kindness, grace and respect, according to Cheadle, a Presbyterian.

Cheadle said Blue Thumb volunteers >educate the public about water pollution, and monitor the water quality of Oklahoma streams.
The workshop will include discussions about how congregations can get involved in environmental programs.
"Our hope is to develop a coalition of interested churches and people," Cheadle said.
