Ngeth Chea Assistant Project Officer
Mr. Ngeth Chea has since October 2003 been seconded to the BirdLife International Cambodia Programme Office from the Wildlife Protection Office of the Forestry Administration.
He received his Bachelor's Degree in Forest Science at the Royal University of Agriculture, Cambodia in 1996 and spent one subsequent year working in the Forestry Department conducting research on wildlife and being responsible for monitoring forestry documents at the provincial level. From 1997 to 2002, he spent five years working in Kratie Province controlling illegal logging and illegal wildlife trading.
Ngeth now works as a Assistant Project Officer and assists with the Programme's activities in northern Cambodia. He has helped to survey IBAs and establish Site Support Groups whose responsibilities include bird surveys, community outreach, and conservation management. Ngeth has worked closely with our conservation partners to initiate vulture conservation activities across the northern landscape.
