Edward H. Chazen has been actively involved in the real estate business since 1982, during which time he has purchased or financed properties with a value in excess of $1 billion.These transactions included all major income property types and were located in nearly every major metropolitan area in the United States.

Ed began his real estate career with GE Capital where he was responsible for originating and closing conventional and participating mortgage loans.From 1986 to 1988 he was Vice President of Finance for Park Tower Realty, a company owned by George Klein, which is a major developer of office buildings in New York and Washington, D.C.

In 1988, Ed moved to Boston and became Vice President of Acquisitions for The Boston Company's pension fund real estate investment advisory group.Two years later he joined TCW Realty Advisors, another large pension fund advisor, where he became a partner.At TCW Ed was a Director of Acquisitions along the East Coast and in the Midwest.

Prior to forming ML Capital and its predecessor company, Ed was Executive Vice President of Phoenix Realty Advisors, where he managed the Acquisition and Portfolio Management Departments.Phoenix Realty acquires and manages investments for the general account of Phoenix Mutual Insurance Company and third-party pension fund clients.

Ed is a magna cum laude graduate of Emory University and received an MBA from New York University.He teaches real estate development as an Adjunct Professor at Boston University.

Since 1997, Mr. Chazen has closed over $700 million of joint venture equity transactions representing over $2 billion of real estate.Mr. Chazen has over 25 years experience in the real estate industry.Prior to forming Ackman-Ziff Chazen, Ed spent 10 years in the pension fund advisory business, including 6 years as a Partner at TCW Realty Advisors.He also served as Vice President of Finance at Park Tower Realty, a major developer of office buildings in New York and Washington, DC.In the 1980,s, Ed worked as a loan officer for GE Capital.

Ed Chazen serves as Senior Vice President in the acquisitions group of Urdang Capital Management, Inc.Ed manages the North East Region Acquisitions office located in Boston.He is responsible for the sourcing, underwriting and closing of real estate acquisitions and investment transactions in the northeastern United States.

Ed has 23 years of commercial real estate experience.He has worked for many companies in the New York and New England area, including GE Capital Corporation, TCW Realty Advisors, Weil/Chazen Realty Advisors and The Ackman Ziff Real Estate Group.As the president of Weil/Chazen Realty Advisors, Ed closed over $325 million of joint venture equity investments, underwrote investments and represented developers in the structure of joint ventures with institutional investors.As a managing director at The Ackman Ziff Real Estate Group, Ed's notable accomplishments were the closing of over $400 million of joint venture and preferred equity investments with institutional investors and the management of a joint venture equity placement business for a successful New York-based capital markets advisory company.

Ed holds a B.A. from Emory University and a M.B.A. from New York University.He also taught real estate development as an adjunct professor at Boston University from 1996 to 2001.
