Amy is a Certified Teacher, with a minor in Business Administration, entering her twelfth year at Maricopa Unified.She is currently working toward her Masters Degree in 21st Century Adult Professional Development.She is specifically interested in: learning environments (virtual and physical) designed to positively impact learner performance; integration of alternative on-line communities, virtual (Second Life) collaboration and delivery of content; 21st Century learning skills for educators, administratos and students.
Before joining MUSD, Amy had nearly 20 years experience in, Materials, Purchasing and Operations Management, primarily in the manufacturing industry.For the first six years at MUSD, Amy was the Elementary Computer Lab instructor, when there was only ONE Elementary Computer Lab.In 2003, Amy joined the Technology Department where she acts as Technology Integration Specialist and Educational Technology Coordinator.She is a Savvy Cyber Teacher Mentor Teacher, iSafe Certified Trainer and District Coordinator for and Board member of Pinal County ITv Consortium through which MUSD students participate in a wide range of videoconferencing opportunities.Amy is Co-Chair of the AzTEA Eastside Chapter, sits on their Board and Planning and Advocacy Committee.AzTEA is a statewide association of volunteer educators who are passionate about supporting other educators in developing their technology integration and 21st Century skills.During the Spring and Summer 2008, Amy is also an active member of the Arizona Department of Education 'Technology Standards Revision Task Force'.She is a member of ISTE and SDCAz.
