A large number of old age and widow pensioners, led by Ms Laxmi Kanta Chawla, state vice-president of the BJP, held a protest dharna outside Hall Gate today.
The pensioners raised slogans against the state government for not disbursing amount due to them.
Ms Chawla said the state government was not concerned about poor people who were unable for earn two square meals a day.
She alleged that the Punjab and Haryana High Court had directed the state government to disburse the pensions, but the government continued to dither over the issue.
However, she refuted the allegation of making the non-payment of pensions an election issue.
She said they had been protesting for a long time and urged the government to release the amount as soon as possible.
