Mr. John Chase, CRA's Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President Mr. John Chase joined CRA in November 2007 as the Chief Operating Officer after a distinguished career in the United States Marine Corps, the Immigration and Naturalization Service, the Department of Homeland Security, and the private sector.
Mr. Chase began his career as an officer in the United States Marine Corps where he held a variety of command and staff assignments over his twenty year career.He is a decorated combat veteran of the Vietnam War.He was assigned to the DOD Office of the Inspector General where he helped organize the Office of Special Investigations.He was selected as a lead investigator for the President's Commission investigating the Space Shuttle Challenger Accident.After retirement he worked as a senior investigator for the U.S. House of Representatives, Committee on Appropriations.
The Commissioner of the Immigration and Naturalization Service selected Mr. Chase to the newly created Senior Executive Service position of Director, Internal Audit for the 18,000 person federal law enforcement organization.In this capacity he created and managed programs where he was responsible for all internal investigations, field inspections, and integrity awareness for the Service.He also established a values based leadership training program for first-line supervisors which became widely used throughout the Immigration Service.
After the terrorist attacks on September 11th and the creation of the Department of Homeland Security, Mr. Chase was asked to serve as the first Chief of Staff in the Office of Information Analysis and Infrastructure Protection which was one of two brand new offices within the Department.He used his organizational skills to help design and stand-up IAIP while also managing day-to-day mission operations.After a change in leadership at DHS, Mr. Chase was asked to serve as the Chief of Staff in the newly created Preparedness Directorate where he again used his organization and leadership skills to successfully establish and staff the new directorate.
After fourteen years in the Senior Executive Service, Mr. Chase retired from federal service.He entered the private sector as a Vice President / Operations Manager at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC).In this position, Mr. Chase managed an Integrated Security Business Operation producing annual revenue of $60 million.His customers included DHS, DOD, U.S. Army and Navy, Department of Energy, Bureau of Prisons, and the Intelligence Community.
