Dr. Steven Charney is Chief of the Medical Staff at Del E. Webb Memorial Hospital where he has been an active physician since April 1993.

Dr. Charney is board certified by the American Board of Radiology.He received his medical degree from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, Mexico, and he completed his internship at Booth Memorial Medical Center, Flushing, NY.His residency training was at Northshore University Hospital Teaching Affiliate of Cornell Medical College, Manhasset, NY.

Dr. Charney is serving a two-year term that will take him up to the year 2002 as elected head of the 400-member physician staff comprised of primary care and specialty physicians.He serves on the Del E. Webb Hospital Operating Board, Pediatrics and Perinatal Committees, and Joint Conference Committee as well as the Medical Executive Committees of both Del E. Webb and Boswell hospitals.

Webb Hospital's medical staff has made a three-year pledge of $50,000 to help fund the hospital's current expansion to meet growing healthcare needs.Major elements of this expansion include 80 new private rooms, 12 new critical care beds, expanded emergency and urgent care, 6 new operating rooms, 1,128 new parking spaces, and the Center for Women's Health," says Dr. Charney.

"Physicians at both Sun Health hospitals realize the importance of having state-of-the-art equipment available at the hospitals so we can assure our patients that we can render to them the best healthcare possible.Our medical staff is contributing financially to help make this possible," concludes Dr. Charney.

In addition to collective donations by both medical staffs, personal contributions by individual physicians also continue to be greatly appreciated.
