The city awarded the project to Dyersburg-based Ford Construction Company, which is doing the work, said Scott Chandler, assistant city engineer.

The state also plans to expand Hollywood from Miller Avenue north to Interstate 40, but Chandler said that project has not been bid out yet.
"By early next week, we'll be fixing up the storm drainage," Chandler said.After that, workers will start adding dirt to build up additional lanes, he said.
When it's completed, there will be five lanes, including bicycle lanes and sidewalks on both sides of the road, Chandler said.

The project initially began Aug. 29, but it was delayed for utility relocation, Chandler said.
