Scott Chandler, the company's marketing director, explains that this attention to design is not simply for the benefit of the aging population but to add to the overall look, feel and appeal of the product.However, he says that factors such as the aging of the population and the increase in the number of people suffering from arthritis are an influence.The company's cookware pieces are available either with one long handle or two short handles, the latter making pots easier to lift.If a customer finds that they need a second handle, either due to a medical condition such as arthritis or to age, they have simply to return the pot to Paderno and a second, small loop handle will be attached, at no charge, and the pot returned to the customer."We're not sacrificing the quality or the weight of the cookware itself but we're adding something to make cooking easier for that client," says Chandler.
