Ashley Chandler, daughter of Jim and Sandy Chandler, Cumberland, received the Steffen Endowed Scholarship of $10,000 to apply toward her senior year, during the 2005-06 school year at Marian College, given to a student in the Marian College Music Department.

Chandler is working toward a double major, with a bachelor of arts in woodwind performance and a bachelor of science in marketing with a concentration in business creation and development.She is also an honors program student and has maintained a 4.0 grade-point average.She recently completed a Maymester Study Abroad Program in Italy.
During the 2005-06 school year, Chandler will be the business manager of the Marian College Department of Performing and Visual Arts, and the president of the business club.She will be a member of the Chamber Singers, Women's Ensemble, Collegiate Wind Ensemble and the Marian Band and will continue lessons on the piano and clarinet.
This summer, she was the assistant choreographer for the Hancock County Children's Theater.She is a part-time dance instructor at Dance Magic Performing Arts Center and a part-time sales associate at The Gap.She also owns her own private franchise.
Chandler is the granddaughter of Millard and Helenann Jefferson, Marion.
