The Citadel Class of ‘44 was called into military service toward the end of their junior year. Some, including A. Lee Chandler (left), a retired South Carolina chief justice, went on to other universities to graduate after the war while others, such as Col. Bob Adden (right), returned to The Citadel, where he taught for more than 30 years. The two were at The Citadel on Tuesday as cadets made their way to the dining hall.,
