    Mayor Michael Cawley has served in the post six years, and has been a village resident for 30 years.He also praised the village's walkability and accessibility.

    "It's a small New England town, a place where you can talk to neighbors or not talk to neighbors, whatever you feel, and where you can get as involved as you want and do your thing," Cawley said.

    He cites outdoor recreation as a major amenity of the village, with nearby state campgrounds, fishing and boating and the Harlem Valley Rail Trail, which connects Wassaic and Millerton.

    The village is also close to Hartford and Connecticut attractions such as Lime Rock Park.

    When asked what advice he would offer to anyone considering moving to the village, he said, "I would tell them they should hurry."
