Cassidy comes to ULS with more than eight years of upper school leadership experience gained as Head of the Upper School at the Glenelg Country School in Ellicott City, Maryland.Previously, he taught humanities at Glenelg and history at The HighCroft School in Williamstown, Massachusetts.
Cassidy holds graduate and undergraduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, including a master of science in education.He also earned an Independent Schools Leadership Certificate from the Johns Hopkins University School of Continuing Studies, and is the recipient of fellowships from the Klingenstein Summer Institute and the National Endowment for the Humanities.He has also coached track and field since 1991.Cassidy and his wife, Bonnie, are the parents of two young daughters.
Cassidy will assume the upper school head position in July, replacing Chris Hartley, who has accepted a position at The Lakeside School in Seattle, Washington.
