    Bob is a native of Providence, Rhode Island where he earned a Bachelor's Degree (magna cum laude) in Civil Engineering from Roger William's University. He has an advanced certificate in Facilities Management from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. He is currently A Senior Engineering Consultant with the Archdiocese of Boston. Previously he worked as a Facilities Engineering Manager with the MITRE Corporation and received their "Special Recognition Award," and the "General Manager's Award for Excellence." Bob has also worked as City Engineer and Deputy Director of Public Works in Cambridge, MD and Director of Public Works in both Claremont, NH and Bedford, MA.

    Bob joined the United States Navy and graduated from the United States Naval Submarine School, Naval Nuclear Power Basic Training, and Advanced Nuclear Power Prototype Training and earned his submarine dolphins (representing qualifications in submarines) and served aboard the Navy's nuclear powered submarines for 8 years. Bob was awarded an FBM patrol pin with six clusters and the Presidential Unit Citation for service in the North Atlantic.

    Bob first joined Rotary in Cambridge, MD in 1979, switched to the Claremont, NH Rotary club in 1981, and then to the Bedford, MA Rotary Club in 1983. He currently holds the classification of Senior Active (Facilities Management). Bob served as President of the Bedford Club (1985 - 1986) and served on numerous club boards and committees. In 1988 Bob led the club's efforts to develop a computerized training center for handicapped children, which was recognized as the "Best Community Project" in District 7910 in 1990 and was honored as Rotarian of the Year in 1986, 1988, and 1990.

    Bob was elected to District 7910's Board of Trustees (1991 - 1993), served as a Governor's Representative (1991 - 1995), was Chair of the ESSEX Program in 1996, and District 7910's Governor in 1997 - 1998. He is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and a Foundation Benefactor. Bob and his wife, Carolyn, also a Paul Harris Fellow, reside in Bedford and have six children and five grandchildren between them.
