   Rick Cassidy, president of TSMC North America, has been a contributor to advancements in both the business and operational spheres of the semiconductor industry for over a quarter of century.
   
   Cassidy began his semiconductor industry career at National Semiconductor Company, Inc. in 1979.In 1994, Cassidy ascended to the position of vice president and general manager of National's Military & Aerospace Division, assuming responsibility for over 600 people.
   
   In 1997, Cassidy joined TSMC North America as vice president, account management.In that position, he led strategic initiatives and process re-engineering directions that have resulted in significant market share gain for the company.As senior vice president of operations from 1999 until 2004, Cassidy instituted a number of productivity and business process efficiencies that kept both customers and the company on course during the biggest volume ramp and steepest business down turn in semiconductor industry history.Cassidy was appointed executive vice president of TSMC North America in 2004 and president at the beginning of 2005.
   
   Prior to his semiconductor industry career, Cassidy served as an officer in the U.S. Army.He holds a bachelor of science degree in engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
