   In the realm of mature entertainment, there is no one quite like Matt Cassidy. Through his series of scintillating DVDs, the athletic Cassidy has taken muscle worship and domination to new and innovative lengths. And through word-of-mouth marketing, Cassidy has grown a distinctive fan base that crosses demographics and encourages interactivity-indeed, some of his greatest fans wound up being co-stars in his productions, thanks to having their wives and girlfriends volunteering them for video service!
   
   Cassidy offers a unique blend of exhibitionism and anonymity. Yes, the six-pack abs and to-die-for biceps are on full display. But Cassidy's face has never been seen on camera. Part of this adds to the sense of mystery and eroticism (who was that extra hot guy?) and part of it adds to professional obligations (Cassidy also works as a firefighter and an EMT).
   
   Cassidy, working in partnership with the somewhat mysterious (and equally muscular) single-named entrepreneur Carlo, has quietly built a series of popular web sites including the DVD e-commerce Musclematt.com, Private Red Door (a video-on-demand service), and a blog that keeps fans updated on what's happening in the Cassidy orbit blog.themusclemafia.com). Carlo has joined Cassidy in several titles, but increasingly they've built up a small army of muscle guys who enjoy showing off for the camera.
   
   EDGE caught up with Cassidy to get an insight on his remarkable adventures in the skin trade.
   
   Who is Matt? EDGE: Are you really a firefighter/EMT? If you are, is anyone you are working with aware of Musclematt.com?
   
   Matt Cassidy: (pictured.) Yes I am still a firefighter and EMT, and I enjoy that work.

   Matt Cassidy: There were many factors that entered into the creation of Musclematt.com, but the driving force was my buddy Carlo, first and foremost, then the site visitors.
   
   When I was training for the fire exam and physical a few years ago, I was only doing some personal training at a gym, so finances were 'light.' Carlo is a rare very unique guy who knows how to make things happen. He has great ideas and best of all, he is a guy of great integrity. So when he purposed the idea to me of taking a few photos and selling some of my gear, I thought it was very interesting.

   Matt Cassidy: To date there are 31-40 that have been publicly released, some of those are now out of production or were private DVDs, others are what we call vault DVDs that are rare by request only.

   Matt Cassidy: Carlo is, frankly, the brainchild behind everything. (Carlo, pictured.) I won't reveal his day job (that is something you can interview him on), but Carlo is an exceptional bodybuilder with an outstanding reputation in mentoring some of the best bodies all over the New York area. He is also a businessman and, as you see, a great photographer with his own noticeable style.
   
   His story is a very interesting story, but because of his looks and his body he experienced a few things before any of us regarding muscle worship etc. His concept of privatereddoor.com was a real place where many straight guys made money to sponsor their bodybuilding or modeling careers. He goes into that on the site. But the role called "The Boss" was given to him by some of us guys -whenever someone needs something, they can go to Carlo and he can make it happen.
   
   When we started to assemble some of our buddies and they began to appear on the sites, we would joke over a few drinks that Carlo was 'the godfather'-hence the 'Muscle Mafia.' I will say Carlo is a son of a bitch about doing things right and legally, so the 'mafia' term only pokes fun at his jet-black hair, and unmistakable Italian background combined with our loyalty and our now famous 'Code of Silence.'
