Joseph E. Cassidy, Regional Director, Imaging Services for Mercy Health Partners was recently notified that he successfully passed the Certified Radiology Administrator Exam, entitling him to use the designation CRA. Notification was received from the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA).
The CRA is the industry,s first certification program for radiology administrators and is administered by the Radiology Administration Certification Commission of the AHRA. The CRA program is designed to elevate professional standards, enhance individual performance and recognize administrators who demonstrate knowledge essential to the practice of radiology management. The Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) is the only professional credential tailored specifically for radiology administrators, focusing on human resource management, asset resource management, fiscal management, operations management and communication and information management. There are approximately 450 CRA,s nationwide and only 15 in Pennsylvania. A graduate of Radiologic Technology from Sewickley Valley Hospital in Sewickley, Pa., Cassidy received his Bachelors of Arts Degree in Radiography at LaRoche College, Pittsburgh, Pa. He received his Master of Public Management Degree from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pa.
A member of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), the American Society of Radiology Technologists (ASRT) and the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA), Cassidy is certified in radiography, advanced qualifications in cardiovascular-interventional technology, mammography, computerized tomography and quality management. -
