BCA selector Grant Cassidy was optimistic that all BCA representative sides would perform to the maximum.
...
"As a squad we will be getting together soon to start a training squad and have a fair dinkum crack at Melbourne Country Week," Cassidy said.
He said the Kenmac Shield matches would be a guide to the final squad from which the Melbourne Country Week side would be selected. The squad of 37 will be narrowed to 13 or 14 for Melbourne Country Week.
"We are getting the boys together early so that they can get to know each other well and create a bonding which hopefully will lead to ultimate success," Cassidy said.
While the BCA representative team has promised much at Melbourne Country Week in recent years, it has not been able to go all the way.
"We think that will change this summer," Cassidy said.
